Tyler Mendelson is an American film director, born and raised in New York.

At the age of 18 in 2010, Tyler followed one of his lifelong goals and joined the United States Marine Corps. In 2012, he deployed to the Helmand Province in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and later attained the rank of sergeant.
He completed his military service in 2017, having served both on active duty, and in the Reserves. After his time on active duty, Tyler pursued his other lifelong dream - film directing, attending Emerson College and obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Film Production in 2018.

Much of Tyler's filmmaking focuses on telling veteran and military stories, something his personal experiences have lended strength to in providing an honest and accurate voice to the subject. 
His first major undertaking was his short World War I film, The Hun, which won numerous festival awards internationally, and currently sits at over 2.1 million views on Youtube. 

Tyler's most recent major work is In Between the White Space, a short film passion project that he wrote, directed, produced, and edited. The film aims to raise awareness for the veteran suicide epidemic in America. Tyler also was recently the winner of the Victory the Podcast/Action Park Media Film Festival with his short film, A Marine Corps Story.
